Virginia, Minnesota
Virginia is Part of the Iron Range Audio Tour

Virginia Minnesota Tourism Information

Virginia, MN, known as the “Queen City of the North”, is located along Highway 169 in the area known as the Iron Range. Virginia has twice been completely destroyed by fire, and at different times was home to the world’s largest white pine mill and residential steam heating system. Its existence and the employment of many Virginia residents is due in large part to the brisk iron mining and lumber industries, though both industries have been in decline for much of the last 50 years. Among the things to do in Virginia, MN include the Land of the Loons Arts and Crafts Festival, the Virginia Heritage Museum, hiking and biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating on several nearby lakes and downhill and cross-country skiing or golfing at Giant’s Ridge.
