Tower, Minnesota
Tower is Part of the Iron Range Audio Tour

Tower Minnesota Tourism Information

Tower, MN lies on the shores of Lake Vermilion along Highway 169 in Minnesota’s Iron Range. Tower is the oldest city in Minnesota north of Duluth, and it owes its existence mainly to a failed gold rush that began in 1865. Though not much gold was found, the gold rush led to the discovery of some of the largest deposits of iron ore found in the world. Things to see and do in Tower, MN include hopping a ride on the Tower Train Coach Car, taking in the Bois Forte Heritage Museum, visiting the Tower-Soudan Historical Society and Train Depot and touring the nearby Soudan Underground Mines in Soudan State Park. Tower lies on beautiful Lake Vermilion, where you can drink in its breathtaking sunsets, go fishing, boating, hiking, biking and water skiing.
