Onamia, MN is located along Highway 169 in northeastern Minnesota, just south of famous Lake Mille Lacs, the state’s second largest inland lake. Onamia actually lies on the shores of lesser known Lake Onamia, which is highly prized for its abundance of wild rice. The things to see and do around Onamia mainly revolve around the area’s waterways and include visiting the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post and the Mille Lacs Lake Historical Society Museum, horseback rides at the Rolling Hills Arabians and Farm Tours, taking in the sights at Mille Lacs Wildlife Management Area, as well as fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking and biking.
