Forest History Center Minnesota Tourism Information

The Forest History Center is located near Grand Rapids on Highway 169 and is Minnesota’s only authentic 1900’s living history logging camp and has site interpreters in period dress. The Forest History Center has exhibits to visit in their museum and you can take the one hour guided tour or explore the logging camp on your own. The logging camp includes lumberjacks, a blacksmith, saw filer, clerk and cook’s mess hall. The Forest History Center also offers 2.5 miles of hiking trails and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and requires a small fee for admission.
