The Cascade River Wayside is located along Highway 61 in northeastern Minnesota where the Cascade River empties into Lake Superior. The Cascade Wayside lies within the Superior National Forest and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) lived for a time at what is now Cascade River State Park. The wall by the highway turnabout, the stairs down to the river and the bridge over the river were built by the men of the CCC. Some things to see and do near the Cascade River Wayside include fishing and canoeing in the Cascade River or Lake Superior and hiking in the Superior National Forest.
