Hill Annex Mine State Park Minnesota Tourism Information
The Hill Annex Mine State Park is located in Minnesota’s Iron Range, near the town of Calumet, MN along Highway 169. The Hill Annex Mine State Park is home to two guided tours open between Memorial Day and Labor Day: the Hill Annex Mine Tour and the Fossil Hunting Tour. Each tour is about 1.5 hours, includes a trolley bus trip to each site and is led by experienced interpreters. On the Hill Annex Mine Tour you will learn about how the mine operated, the people who worked there and where they came from. On the Fossil Hunting Tour you will learn about the many marine fossils in the area and how they came to be there.
TOUR ROUTE: Starts in Elk River, MN and follows Highway 169 north through beautiful timber forests and the Iron Range ending at Ely, MN.
