Lake Vermilion is Part of the Iron Range Audio Tour

Lake Vermilion Minnestoa Tourism Information

Lake Vermilion
is located in the Iron Range region of Minnesota near the town of Tower, MN and the Canadian border. Lake Vermilion, meaning “Lake of the Sunset Glows”, offers stunning scenery as well as a storied history. The Lake was once an important inland trade route and was so important that it defined the border between the U.S. and Canada. Vermilion was also home to a gold rush in 1865 that yielded little gold, but led to the eventual finding of rich iron ore deposits that helped build this country for the next century. Some things to see and do on Lake Vermilion, MN include fishing, boating, tent and RV camping, hiking and biking. You can also hit the casino, charter an airplane tour, rent a cabin or stay at one of Lake Vermilion’s many resorts.
