Lake Mille Lacs Minnesota Tourism Information

Lake Mille Lacs is located in east-central Minnesota and is the state’s second largest inland lake. The name Mille Lacs comes from the French meaning “one thousand lakes”, though the native Ojibwe translation means “grand lake”. The area is stated by archeologists to be one of the earliest known settlements in the state of Minnesota.  Mille Lacs Lake, MN is a bustling resort area and offers many things to see and do including riding the 12 mile Soo Line ATV trail between Mille Lacs/Kathio and Father Hennepin State Parks, visiting several history museums in the area, hiking, biking, fishing, birding, boating, canoeing, golfing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and pressing your luck at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs.
