The Minneapolis Grand Rounds Scenic Byway runs through Minneapolis by way of the chain of lakes and Mississippi River areas. The Minneapolis Grand Rounds are the country's longest continuous system of urban parkways totalling over 52 miles, and is the only urban scenic parkway in the country. Along with the Mississippi River, Grand Rounds winds visitors through many of the area's waterways including Lake Nokomis, Lake Hiawatha, Minnehaha Falls and St. Anthony Falls, which is the Mississippi River's only natural waterfall and gourge. As you drive, bike or walk the Grand Rounds, you'll also see the historic milling district, the famed Stone Arch Bridge, the Walker Art Center's Sculpture Garden, the Butler Wildflower Garden, Nicollet and Boom Islands and the Loring Park Sculpture Garden.
