The Leech Lake Reservation is located in the Leech Lake area near Walker, MN and is the largest reservation in the state of Minnesota by population, with 10,205 inhabitants. About 40 lakes in the area are rich in wild rice, and the community produces more wild rice than any other reservation in the state. The Leech Lake Reservation boasts many attractions including boating, fishing, several golf courses, biking and hiking trails, cross-country and downhill skiing and a large part of the reservation is taken up by the Chippewa National Forest.
